INDIA

Incomparable in its color and diversity, India, a country of a billion people, can shock and delight all at the same time. Sensory overload is not uncommon, but the rewards of experiencing this whirlwind of a nation are boundless. The “real India” is stimulating, challenging, and always overflowing at every turn with historical and cultural riches. Having traveled in India many times, I still find an endless supply of artistic subject matter. Exotic and dramatic, historic and traditional, India looms on the horizon of becoming a major player among emerging nations. One never leaves India with the same mind and heart.

Elephants, camels and people all share the roads with numerous forms of motorized vehicles, while the sacred cows sit unfazed in the midst of what seems to be organized mayhem. Everywhere religion is in evidence - Hinduism being a way of life in India. From the magnificence of the Himalayas in the north, to the colorful splendor of the desert state of Rajasthan, to steamy, tropical Kerala, I am drawn back to India again and again to partake of the exotic subjects that await my artist brush.
